ETLN Meeting January 12, 2010
| EdTech Leadership Network |
Topic: E-Learning
Attention all educational technology leaders and advocates!. Please join us for our next ETLN meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Sacramento County Office of Education.
The topic for this months meeting is E-Learning. We'll be participating in a informational conference call with the CUE E-Learning Special Interest Group (SIG) and learning more about what they do. We'll also be viewing a presentation by Rob Darrow and others titled "Online Courses Go Open Source."
This is a presentation that was given at the Virtual School Symposium in September 2009. It will demonstrate how two developing online schools, one in Utah and one in California, use open source content for their online schools. Both schools in part use the non-profit site Curriki as a source for and tool to organize their content. The course development process, general challenges and opportunities as well as specifics of the Curriki site will be shared.
Rob Darrow, one of the presenters and Principal of Clovis Online School will then be joining us to discuss his work in online learning and use of open source resources and Q&A.
As always, please feel free to bring a guest to the meeting. We will be meeting from roughly 4:00 - 6:00 PM and dinner and networking from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
